THE BOTTOM LINE: Mississippi State wrapped up its non-conference slate with a convincing 94-56 win over Alabama State on Monday night at Humphrey Coliseum. Josh Hubbard got off to a fast start for the Bulldogs with three straight three-pointers, setting the tone for the rest of the contest. After taking a 49-31 lead at the break, MSU kept its foot on the gas pedal and never looked back, stretching the margin to as much as 38 in the win.
KEY NUMBERS: Hubbard led all scorers with 22 points in the effort. King Grace set a career high with 14 points and Sergej Macura turned in an efficient nine points on 4-of-4 shooting along with five rebounds and three assists. Achor Achor provided 11 points and eight boards while Ja'Borri McGhee contributed 10 points off the bench. As a unit, the Bulldogs dominated the glass and outrebounded the Hornets by a 49-27 margin, led by Quincy Ballard's season-high 15 boards. Additionally, the Maroon and White controlled the paint from start to finish outscoring the ASU 38 down low.
