TEAM NOTES
- Mississippi State mounted a 13-point comeback during the last five minutes of regulation and emerged with an 81-78 overtime victory over New Orleans on Monday night at Humphry Coliseum.
- Trailing 66-53 with 5:14 remaining, State ripped off 15 of the last 17 points to draw even at 68-68 and force the extra period.
- The Bulldogs went ahead on a Josh Hubbard three-pointer at 73-71 with 3:39 left then stretched the advantage to two possessions as Hubbard found Amier Ali cutting across the baseline for a two-handed jam to make it 75-71 at the 2:34 mark.
- New Orleans fought back and knotted the score at 78-78 with 29 seconds on the clock courtesy of a bank three-pointer by Coleton Benson who finished with 25 points.
- On the ensuing possession, Ali countered with a bank triple of his own with 1.8 seconds left. After a timeout, Ali deflected the inbounds pass at halfcourt for the game-clinching steal.
- State has won 10 of the 11 all-time meetings with the Privateers highlighted by the last seven games during the 2000s.
- The Bulldogs improved to 22-5 under Coach Jans in November.
- State moved to 38-6 versus non-SEC opponents during the regular season under Coach Jans.
- The Maroon and White improved to 6-3 in overtime games under Coach Jans.
- Overall, Coach Jans has won 10 of his 14 overtime decisions during his 10 seasons as a NCAA Division I head coach.
- State has scored 70+ points in all six games this season and are 48-19 over the last four seasons under Coach Jans when reaching the 70-plus point mark.
- The Bulldogs also won their first game of the season when trailing at halftime.
- Overall, State erased a halftime deficit to win for the 11th time under Coach Jans. Â
- It marked the 31st occasion that Coach Jans has won a game when trailing at the half in his 10 seasons as a NCAA Division I head coach.
- State amassed a season's best 10 steals on the defensive end. The Bulldogs are now 30-7 over the last four seasons under Coach Jans when collecting double digit steals.
- State had four players secure double figures for the first time this season: Josh Hubbard (28 points), Amier Ali (16 points), Ja'Borri McGhee (16 points) and Quincy Ballard (11 points).
- The Bulldogs have dialed up a 26-12 mark over the last four seasons under Coach Jans when accomplishing that feat.
- State knocked down 28-of-65 from the floor (43.1 percent), drained 10-of-31 from three-point territory (32.3 percent) and hit on a 15-of-29 clip at the free throw line (51.7 percent).
- State is 1-1 this season and 13-7 over the last four seasons under Coach Jans when hitting 10+ treys.
- The Bulldogs have hit on over 40 percent of their shot attempts in all six games and improved to 59-21 over the last four seasons under Coach Jans.
- Conversely, New Orleans recorded a 26-of-69 shooting effort (37.7 percent), connected on a 10-of-27 clip on its three-pointers (37.0 percent) and tallied a 16-for-17 mark at the charity stripe (94.1 percent).
- The Bulldogs have won all three games this season and 41-5 over the last four seasons under Coach Jans when holding the opposition to under 40 percent from the field.

Josh Hubbard
- Started his 56th consecutive game over the past three seasons where he has led the Bulldogs in scoring during 39 of those 56 outings.
- Provided a game-leading 28 points where he shot 9-of-21 from the field and 5-of-12 from three-point range.
- Eclipsed 20+ points in five of six outings this season and for the 32nd time in his career.
- Notched 10+ points in 69 of 75 career games fueled by 25 straight games (01/11/2025-11/24/2025) and 48 of his last 49 outings (02/24/2024-11/24/2025).
- The 28 points bring Hubbard's career total to 1,387 points which helped him surpass Gavin Ware (2007-08-09-10) to move into 19th place on the program's all-time scoring list.
- Hit a three-pointer in a school-record 53 consecutive games (02/07/2024-11/24/2025).
- Sank multiple triples in 64 of 75 career games and hit on 5+ three's on 16 occasions.
- The five three-pointers enabled Hubbard to tie Dee Bost (2009-10-11-12) for 4th place in program history with 237 trifectas.
- Delivered five or more assists for the 3rd time this season and13th time in his career.
- State is 7-3 when Hubbard secures 15+ points and 5+ assists during the same game.
- Grabbed a career-high tying 6 rebounds.
- Started in 40 of 42 games over the last two seasons between State and UAB.
