All Three Bulldogs Advance to the Round of 32 Singles

ORLANDO, Fla. – Mississippi State men's tennis delivered a historic opening day at the NCAA Individual Championships, advancing all three Bulldogs to the Round of 32 in singles at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.

No. 31 Petar Jovanovic def. Preston Stearns (Ohio State) — 7-5, 6-3
Bryan Hernandez Cortes def. Soham Purohit (Washington) — 6-3, 7(7)-6(5)
No. 11 Benito Sanchez Martinez def. Fryderyk Lechno Wasiutynski (California) — 6-2, 6-4

The three wins marked the first NCAA singles win for each Bulldog and the collective performance carried significant program history:

- First time in Head Coach Matt Roberts' tenure (began in 2015) that three Bulldogs have advanced to the second round of NCAA singles.

- This achievement has occurred only two other times in program history—2012 and 1997.
