Thompson has had a career year in 2025, setting career bests in receptions (47), yards (868) and touchdowns (6). He leads Mississippi State in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns this season and ranks second in receptions. Thompson's 47 receptions rank 11th in the SEC, while his 868 yards are second, and his six touchdowns are tied for third in the conference. He also leads the SEC, and ranks second nationally, in receptions of 40 yards or more with nine. Of those nine receptions over 40 yards, four have gone for touchdowns.
Thompson has had three 100-yard receiving games this season. He had 133 yards, including the game-winning touchdown against No. 12 Arizona State. He had a career-high 155 yards at Florida and had 107 yards at Arkansas. Thompson has a pair of multi-touchdown games with two scores against Arizona State and two against Texas.
This season, Thompson, along with teammate Anthony Evans III, each earned their first three career 100-yard receiving games (Arizona State, Florida, Arkansas). Together, the duo became the first pair of Mississippi State teammates in program history to have multiple same-game 100+ yard receiving performances in the same season. The only other duo to have multiple 100-yard receiving games was Fred Ross & De'Runnya Wilson, who achieved this feat once in 2014 and once in 2015.
