October 20, 2025 | Men's Golf
SAUCIER, Miss. – Mississippi State rallied to finish inside the top 10 at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, placing ninth overall with a score of 2-over 866.
Â
"We did a great job fighting this week," head coach Dusty Smith said. "It wasn't the start we needed in round one, but I'm proud of the resilience showed in rounds two and three. We did not have near our best stuff physically this week, but the guys did a great job getting it around and finding a way."
Â
Garrett Endicott led State with a 13th-place finish at 4-under. He carded rounds of par or better all three days, concluding the event with a 1-under 71. He bounced back from bogeys on his two opening holes with five birdies the rest of the way. This is Endicott's third top-20 finish this season.
Â
Ugo Malcor wrapped up a fourth top-20 finish in as many starts this season, placing 18th at 3-under. He opened the event with rounds of 3-under 69 and 2-under 70 to conclude the fall campaign with seven rounds of par or better.
Â
Drew Wilson rebounded from a tough opening round by shooting back-to-back rounds of 1-under 71 to finish in a tie for 54th at 5-over. He totaled nine birdies in his final two rounds. Jackson Skinner joined Wilson in 54th after a final round of even-par 72.
Â
Dain Richie rounded out the lineup in a tie for 78th. Ben Kelling placed 44th individually in his first event as a Bulldog.Â
Â
This concludes State's fall season. The Dawgs placed inside the top 10 in all four of their fall events with two top-five showings, including a team victory at the Cullan Brown Collegiate. The spring season will commence February 2-3 at the Battle at Briar's Creek.
Â
"We have a long offseason and need to address some issues both physically and mentally to make sure we are in a great position heading into championship season," Smith added. "I know this team has so much heart and toughness, which will give us a great opportunity to have a successful spring."
