Symmonds Called Up To U.S. U-19/U-18 National Team
October 17, 2025 | Soccer
STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's Adia Symmonds has earned her first opportunity to represent the United States in international play. The Bulldog freshman has been called up to the U.S. Soccer U-18/U-19 Women's National Team Training Camp on Oct. 20-29 in Setubal, Portugal.
Â
Symmonds will miss State's final regular-season match against Georgia on Oct. 26 for the opportunity.
Â
The Women's National Team will play two friendlies during the camp. On Oct. 25, the Americans are set to face the Republic of Ireland. Three days later, Team USA will play the home country of Portugal on Oct. 28.
Â
"We are very excited for Adia and this incredible opportunity," MSU head coach Nick Zimmerman said. "Our program emphasizes player growth and development, and Adia takes great pride in her craft each and every day. She continues to stretch her standards, and there is nothing more special than representing your country at the highest level. We are very proud of her."
Â
Symmonds previously took part in U.S. Soccer's Women's College Talent ID Camp on June 18-22 in Atlanta. This season, she leads all Bulldog freshmen with 1,054 minutes played, starting every match. She is fourth on the team in points (8) and second in assists (4).
Â
"I am so grateful for the opportunity and how the work we put in day in and day out is opening up doors," Symmonds said. "I am honored to represent Mississippi State with the United States."
Â
Players born after Jan. 1, 2006, are eligible for next year's 2026 FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup in Poland. All 20 players in the U-19/U-18 camp would be eligible for selection to represent the United States at that tournament.
Â
Symmonds will be the sixth Bulldog in program history to play with a national team, and the second to play for the United States. Mallory Eubanks (2014-17) played with the U.S. U-19, U-20 and U-23 squads throughout her career. Most recently, Ilana Izquierdo (Colombia) and Ruthny Mathurin (Haiti) played for their countries while also competing at MSU over the last two seasons.
