
Logan Qualifies for Argentina Open

Former Mississippi State Bulldog Hunter Logan qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour’s Argentina Open yesterday.
STARKVILLE -Â Former Mississippi State Bulldog Hunter Logan qualified for the Korn Ferry Tour's Argentina Open yesterday. The tournament will take place Feb. 27-March 2 at the Jockey Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The State golf great shot a bogey-free, 8-under 64 at the Weston Hills Tour Course in Weston, Florida on Monday. He got off to a hot start with a birdie on the first hole. He made the turn with a 5-under 31 on the front nine before going in with a 3-under 33 on the back.

Entering a sudden-death playoff, Logan made birdie to qualify for the event.

The former Bulldog made his PGA Tour debut in October 2024 at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi.Â

Logan led the Bulldogs with a 71.06 stroke average last year in his final season. That average ranked third in program history, and he posted a career-high-tying 21 par or better rounds. He finished his career with 74 par or better rounds and 33 rounds in the 60s, both of which are second in program history. His 15 rounds in the 60s in 2023-24 came one shy of the program's single-season record set by Alex Rocha in 1999-00.

The Steens, Mississippi, native was tabbed a PING All-Region performer by the Golf Coaches Association of America in May 2024. He collected three top-five finishes in 2023-24, including his first career individual victory. At one point, he ranked as high as No. 35 in the PGA Tour University rankings.

The Argentina Open became a Korn Ferry Tour event in 2024 and is the product of a partnership between the tour and the R&A. The winner of the tournament will receive an exemption for The Open Championship at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
