September 25, 2024 | Women's Golf
STARKVILLE – For the first time in her career, Avery Weed was earned an SEC Golfer of The Week Honor, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday. The honor comes on the heels of Weed's recent performance at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
Â
Weed earned her first individual victory at the collegiate level on Sunday after finishing 13-under par. She became just the 14th golfer in program history to win an individual title after tying the fourth-best tournament score in program history.
Â
In the opening round of the Mason Rudolph, Weed fired off a 7-under par round, the lowest round shot of any golfer during the tournament. She also tied the fifth-lowest round in program history. Weed concluded the tournament with a 4-under par round, topped off with a trio of birdies on her final three holes.
Â
Weed and the Bulldogs will be back in action on September 30 for the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. The tournament will be broadcasted on NBC's Golf Channel and will broadcast live on NBC's Golf Channel.
