Fierro Wins Florida Legacy Cup By 11 Strokes

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Mississippi State rising sophomore Alejandro Fierro won the 2024 Florida Legacy Cup on Wednesday, shooting 10-under for the tournament and carding 18 birdies over three days at the challenging PGA National Resort.

Fierro torched the field and was the only golfer to finish below par. In fact, there were only 14 individual par or better rounds across the entire field, and Fierro shot three of those. He was the only golfer to finish below par twice.

On Monday, he fired a 67 in the opening round to jump out to the early lead. He carded seven birdies on his way to finishing 5-under. The 67 is lower than any round he shot in his freshman season as is the 5-under relation to par.

He played steady on Tuesday, shooting an even par. Fierro recorded two clutch birdies on the final two holes in Round 2 to finish even.

With a seven-stroke lead entering the final day, Fierro never let up. He opened with a birdie and played bogey free until the turn. On the back nine, he picked up five more birdies and his only bogey of the day to again card a 5-under 67.
