LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Mississippi State men's basketball had four players participate during the 2024 NBA 2K25 Summer League from July 12-22 in Las Vegas.

Garrison Brooks (Chicago Bulls), D.J. Jeffries (Memphis Grizzlies), Tolu Smith III (Detroit Pistons) and Quinndary Weatherspoon (Phoenix Suns) were in action over the 11-day event.

Smith III started all five games for the Pistons and nearly averaged a double-double with 11.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per contest. He sank 57.5 percent of his field goal attempts, while his 9.0 rebounds ranked fourth among NBA Summer League players who played in at least three games.

Weatherspoon posted 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game in three outings off the bench for the Suns. Â

Notable NBA Summer League Performances – Las Vegas
Sunday, July 21: Smith III chipped in 12 points on 5-of-9 shooting and secured four rebounds versus the Utah Jazz.

Saturday, July 20: Brooks concluded the event with a solid all-around effort of five points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Friday, July 19: Smith III posted event highs of 15 points and 14 rebounds versus the New York Knicks. He was 6-of-10 from the field.

Tuesday, July 16: Weatherspoon fired in 17 points on a perfect 5-of-5 shooting off the bench during the first half versus the Indiana Pacers.

Monday, July 15: Smith III nearly tallied another double-double with nine points and eight rebounds versus the Houston Rockets. He also added two blocks.

Saturday, July 13: Smith III tallied a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in his Pistons debut against the Philadelphia 76ers … Brooks and Weatherspoon came away with seven points apiece in their openers.

Over his first two seasons, Chris Jans has guided State to a pair of 21-win seasons and consecutive NCAA Tournament trips.

Humphrey Coliseum was one of the nation's most electric environments in 2023-24 featuring seven sellouts – the most on record for a season dating back to 2008-09 highlighted by four in a row.
