Three Bulldogs Tabbed Academic All-District

STARKVILLE – Three members of Mississippi State's women's tennis team were recently tabbed Academic All-District by the College Sports Communicators.
Chloé Cirotte, Maria Rizzolo and Alessia Tagliente all represented the Bulldogs and head coach Chris Hooshyar on the list due to their diligence in the classroom. It was Cirotte's second time to earn the honor while Rizzolo and Tagliente received the recognition for the first time.
Cirotte posted a 3.82 grade point average and graduated earlier this month with a degree in psychology. In addition to her two CSC Academic All-District distinctions, the senior from Orleans, France has been selected to the President's List three times and the Dean's List three times as well as being a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. She was also inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Society.
On the court, Cirotte stacked up 89 career wins (51 singles, 38 doubles) and was the ITA Southern Region Rookie of the Year in 2021.
Rizzolo earned a 3.81 GPA in the classroom while pursuing a philosophy degree with a pre-law minor. The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida native was also MSU's representative on the SEC Community Service Team this year.
Rizzolo led the Bulldogs with 14 singles wins this season and totaled 22 wins overall. During her two years in Starkville, the junior has racked up 36 triumphs and has 84 career victories after beginning her career at Minnesota as a freshman.
Tagliente secured a 3.6 GPA while majoring in business information systems. The junior from Turin, Italy proved to be one of State's top doubles competitors as she tied for the team lead with a dozen doubles wins this year to go along with six singles triumphs.
Tagliente missed all of last spring and was limited to just nine matches during the fall of 2022 due to a knee injury. She has amassed 35 total victories during her three years as a Bulldog.
