
Rizzolo Recognized On SEC Community Service Team

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's Maria Rizzolo was named to the SEC Community Service Team by the league office on Thursday.
Rizzolo has continued to donate her time and energy towards numerous community service projects this year with most of her work centering around children. She has volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club to help clean and organize the club as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, has greeted students at the Partnership Middle School and provided them with motivation and encouragement as they arrived at school as well as spent time with kids at Skate Odyssey.
The junior from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida also taught and played tennis with members of MSU's Access Program, which serves students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Rizzolo spent time with senior citizens at the Goldton at Adelaide helping them clean and organize at that facility. She also handed out meals and donated canned goods to Starkville Strong, walked and bathed dogs for the Oktibbeha County Humane Society and helped pick up litter on MSU's campus.
On the court, Rizzolo was tallied 19 total wins and is currently tied for the team lead with 13 singles victories. She has 74 total wins during her three seasons of collegiate tennis, including 33 the past two years as a Bulldog.
