TEAM NOTES
- State worked its way back from a 23-point deficit during the second half and got the contest within a single possession on two occasions before Texas A&M escaped with a 75-69 decision to drop the Bulldogs to 19-11 overall and 8-9 in SEC action.
- After tonight's victory, Texas A&M holds a slight 10-9 series edge on the strength of winning six of the eight meetings between the two schools in Bryan-College Station.Â
- State scored 17 of its 28 baskets on the interior en route to outscoring the Aggies, 34-32, in paint points.
- The Bulldogs also held 12-11 and 13-12 advantages in second-chance points and in fastbreak points, respectively.
- In 128 halves over two seasons with Coach Jans at the helm, State has allowed 30 points or fewer on 61 occasions (47.7 percent).
- The Bulldogs secured a 21-16 advantage in bench points and have outscored its opponents in 19 outings this season. In those 19 aforementioned contests, the Bulldogs have outscored opponents by a 654-241 margin in bench points.
- Texas A&M won the battle of the boards by a 32-31 margin which marked only the 4th time that State has been outrebounded this season.
- State dropped to 19-8 this season and to 35-11 over the last two seasons under Coach Jans when shooting 40.0 percent or higher.
- State connected on 28-of-57 from the floor (49.1 percent), sank 9-of-29 from beyond the three-point line (31.0 percent) and hit on 4-of-7 at the charity stripe (57.1 percent).
- Conversely, Texas A&M turned in a 26-of-55 shooting effort (47.3 percent), hit on 8-of-21 of its three-pointers attempts (38.1 percent) and produced a 15-for-20 clip from the free throw line (75.0 percent).Â
PLAYER NOTES
- Earned the nod in State's starting five for the 11th straight game.
- Collected a team-leading 24 points and has produced double figures in 25 of 30 games fueled by 20+ points in 10 outings this season.
- The 10 outings of 20+ points not only top the SEC but lead the nation among true freshmen.
- Posted four straight outings of 20+ points where he has averaged 28.3 points per contest sparked by 24 treys.
- Amassed 493 total points which is now 2nd-most for a freshman in program history. He now trails only Rickey Brown's 520 points (1976-77).
- Hubbard passed Ray White (1975-76) on the freshmen scoring list during today's contest.

- Hubbard's 94 three's moves him into a tie with Darryl Wilson (1994-95) for 2nd-most made during a season. He is four away from passing Wilson's single-season mark of 97 from the 1995-96 NCAA Final Four season.
- Distributed 3+ assists for the 11th outing of the season.
- Started in 98 of his 103 games in the Maroon and White.
- Produced 8 points and 4 rebounds.
- The 8 points give Smith III 1,505 for his career and moves him into 11th-place on the program's all-time scoring list.
- Smith III passed Jerry Jenkins (1973-74-75) during today's game.
- Posted 17.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game over his last 5 outings.
- Started his 50th straight outing and 63 of the team's 64 games over the last two seasons.

- Buried a season-high with 4 treys which marks his 7th outing of 2023-24 and 17th outing of his career with multiple three's.

- D.J. Jeffries tacked on 6 points, a team-leading 12 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal.
