Bulldogs Earn Three Event Wins On The Second Day Of The Bulldog Alumni Relays

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State track and field secured three first-place medals and one all-time top five performance on the second day of the Bulldog Alumni Relays. Freshman Roury McCloyen won first place and broke the freshman discus record for the second time this season.

Roury McCloyen secured his second top- three finish at the Bulldog Alumni Relays and his third first-place medal of the 2024 outdoor season today with a distance of 53.85m (176-8.0). McCloyen first broke the freshman shot put record at the Hurricane Invitational with a distance of 53.72m (176-3), last weekend. He ranks second on State's all-time top-five list and is one of only three with top-35 performances.
The women's 4x800 won first place and broke into State's all-time top-five performance list with a time of 8:46.40. The squad, featuring freshmen junior Hayley Ogle, sophomore Hunter Anderson and freshmen Mallory Streetman and Gabrielle Boulay, now ranks fourth on the all-time performance list at State.
Freshman Michaela McCall earned her first collegiate gold medal in the 400m with a personal record time of 54.35. Her time was over a second faster than her previous best time set at the Hurricane Invitational. She is one of two freshmen in the nation with a top-15 400m performance.
Bulldog alumni Lee Eppie, Marco Arop and Tony Jones competed unattached in the 400m and high jump, respectively. Eppie, a 2023 Mississippi State graduate, secured first place in the 400m closely followed by 800m World Champions Marco Arop who finished second. Jones, also a 2023 graduate placed second in the high jump.
The Bulldog Alumni Relays will begin its final day with the javelin throws at 11 a.m. followed by running events at noon.

Alumni are invited back to Starkville for the event to enjoy a full weekend of family friendly events that include facility tours, a banquet, the opportunity to reconnect with former teammates and meet current athletes and coaches.
