Julia Lopez Ramirez Named SEC Golfer of the Week

STARKVILLE – For the sixth time in her career, Julia Lopez Ramirez was named the Southeastern Conference Golfer of the Week, the SEC office announced on Thursday.

The honor stems from Lopez Ramirez's performance at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, where she earned her seventh career individual victory. With that victory, she now sits in sole possession for the most individual victories in program history.

Lopez Ramirez shot 67-77-64 to finish with a three-day total of 208 (-5) on the par 71 course. She also carded the most birdies of the tournament, picking up 15 over three days.

Lopez Ramirez's third round saw multiple records rewritten. The seven-under round became the lowest round shot in the history of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. Lopez Ramriez also tied her own record for the third-lowest round in program history, which gives her 10 of the 20 lowest rounds ever carded by a Bulldog in her career.

Lopez Ramirez and the Bulldogs will return to the course in Aiken, South Carolina for the Old Barnwell Match Play. The tournament is set to begin on March 25.
