Schedule Changed For The Snowman Ahead Of Weather Forecast

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State's softball team will wait a few more hours to open the season on Friday. The schedule for The Snowman: Alex Wilcox Memorial Tournament presented by Newk's has been changed ahead of forecasted rain in the area.
The Bulldogs will now play twice on Friday evening. State will open with UAB at 4:30 p.m. CT instead of its originally-scheduled opener against IUPUI at 3 p.m. The Bulldogs will now play the Jaguars in a nightcap on Friday at 7 p.m. The season kicks off at Nusz Park with IUPUI and UAB playing at 2 p.m. on Friday now instead of meeting on Saturday morning.
This schedule change moves one of State's two Saturday games to Friday. For now, IUPUI and UAB are still slated to play each other at 11 a.m. CT on Saturday, and State remains set to face the Jaguars a second time at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Mississippi State will continue to monitor the weather forecast and make a determination on any further Saturday schedule changes on Friday afternoon.
Sunday's tournament finale between the State and UAB remains as scheduled at noon. The Bulldogs will wear teal on Friday in honor of Alex Wilcox and her fight against ovarian cancer.
