February 04, 2024 | Men's Golf
VICTORIA, Australia – Mississippi State graduate student Hunter Logan shot a 1-under 71 to finish tied for 23rd during Saturday evening's final round at the Vic Open on the PGA Tour Australasia.Â
Logan finished 8-under overall for the tournament and was 10 strokes back from the tournament's eventual winner. He shot under par in three of his four rounds over the weekend and finished as the second-highest amateur in the entire field.Â
Through four rounds, Logan carded 19 birdies, setting a new single-tournament career high. Additionally, he secured the second-best finish in a professional event of his career, dating back to his second-place performance at the Gulf States Open in July 2023.Â
Logan's fourth-round success came off the backs of under-par rounds on the first and third days of action including his second-lowest professional round, a 5-under 67.Â
He was one of two amateurs to make both of the tournament's cuts and was the only American to reach the final round.Â
Logan and the rest of the Bulldogs will now turn their attention to their first team tournament of the spring at the Watersound Invitational in Panama City Beach, Florida, on February 19-21.Â
