Signee Spotlight: Ally Supan
December 11, 2024 | Softball
STARKVILLE – Ally Supan, who Extra Inning Softball tabbed as the No. 12 utility player in the class, signed with Mississippi State softball in November.
Â
A native of Phenix City, Alabama, Supan is a multi-sport athlete at Central High School where the softball program reached a No. 1 ranking in 7A in 2023 and recorded a 42-game winning streak. She also played flag football and won the school's first state championship in any sport with a squad that climbed to a No. 1 national ranking this fall.
Â
"We are thrilled to welcome one of Alabama's top hitters to next year's roster," head coach Samantha Ricketts said. "Ally is a fiery competitor and will bring valuable depth to our infield and our offense."
Â
Supan's time at Central High saw the Red Devils win three area championships and three regional championships so far. She hit .336 as a freshman with 32 RBIs and followed that campaign with a .449 batting average with 62 hits and 61 RBIs as a sophomore.
Â
In her junior year, Supan broke the school record with 77 RBIs and was named the 7A Hitter of the Year after posting a .439 batting average. She was selected to participate in the North/South All-Star Game and was a First Team All-State and First Team OA Region selection.
Â
"Choosing Mississippi State was an easy decision because it felt like home from the moment I stepped foot on campus," Supan said. "The welcoming environment and the sense of community made me feel instantly at ease. The facilities, coaching staff and the overall support system for athletes were top-notch, which assured me that I'd be in good hands both academically and athletically. The combination of a great softball program and a place where I could see myself thriving made Mississippi State the perfect fit."
Â
Supan played travel ball with Southern Force National, which won the Scenic City Championship in 2023. This past summer, she batted .479 with a .488 slugging percentage as Southern Force finished ninth at the PGF National Championships.
Â
Supan is a member of the National Honor Society and Central High School's A-B Honor Roll and Academic Excellence groups.
Â
Mississippi State softball signed six student-athletes on National Signing Day on Nov. 13. State's class included three players that were ranked by Extra Inning Softball as a top 15 player at their position nationally. The Bulldogs will continue to release an in-depth look at each signee throughout the month of December.
