Mississippi State Soccer Inks Eight Standout Recruits For Class of 2025

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State Head Soccer Coach James Armstrong and his staff announced the signing of eight outstanding players to the Class of 2025, each bringing a wealth of accolades and competitive experience to the Bulldogs. With a mix of dynamic offensive players, versatile midfielders, and tenacious defenders, this group is set to bolster MSU's championship-caliber program.
Tatum Borman (Midfielder/Forward – Georgetown, Kentucky) Borman, a standout from Lexington Sporting Club, is a record-breaking force on the field. Known for her goal-scoring prowess, Borman holds the Scott County High School records for career, single-season, and single-game goals. A two-time All-State First Team selection and two-time Region Player of the Year, Borman's competitive spirit and natural scoring ability make her a perfect fit for MSU's attacking strategy. Boman has proven herself in both GA National Championship and Champions League competitions, where she has claimed two titles. Borman's versatility to play both midfield and forward will add a dynamic edge to the Bulldogs' roster.

Jalen Chaney (Forward – Flower Mound, Texas) Chaney arrives from Sting Black ECNL with a reputation as one of Texas's top forwards. Chaney was named a Top 2025 Player at three ECNL National Showcases, displaying her scoring ability and clutch performance on a national stage. Chaney's high school career boasts All-State honors in Texas 6A competition, two First Team All-District selections, and recognition as her team's Offensive MVP. Chaney's explosiveness in the final third and her ability to break down defenses will add firepower to the Bulldogs attack.

Lily Devereaux (Defender – Matthews, North Carolina) A tough, no-nonsense center back from Charlotte Soccer Academy, Devereaux is known for her composure under pressure and her ball-playing abilities. Devereaux's fearless tackling and calm demeanor make her a commanding presence in the backline, with the skill to neutralize opposing forwards while also setting up plays from deep positions. With her solid defensive foundation and strategic mindset, Devereaux is primed to strengthen MSU's defensive unit and add another brick to wall.

Graycen Ehlen (Goalkeeper – Marietta, Georgia) Ehlen, a multisport athlete and seasoned goalkeeper from Southern Soccer Academy, has led Walton High School to three 7A Region Championships and a GHSA State Finals appearance. Known for her shot-stopping ability and leadership in the net, Ehlen is a vocal organizer of her defense. Beyond soccer, her captaincy and All-Region selections in varsity basketball highlight her athleticism, resilience, and winning mentality. Ehlen's experience in high-stakes matches and her goalkeeping prowess will provide MSU with a reliable last line of defense.

Krossley Jones (Forward – Olive Branch, Mississippi) Jones, a forward who plays for both Tupelo FC and Germantown Legends, brings a wealth of experience and competitive drive. Selected to the 2024 South Region ODP Team, Jones also earned All-Tournament honors at the Tennessee State Soccer Association State Cup and led her team to the 2023 Tennessee State League Championship. Known for her speed, vision, and goal-scoring abilities, Jones's adaptability across different offensive roles adds depth and unpredictability to the Bulldogs' attack.

Lauren Maxson (Defender – West Chester, Pennsylvania) Maxson, a highly decorated defender from Penn Fusion ECNL, has earned MVP honors and multiple All-League selections for her consistent excellence. As a key player in her club's WPSL Mid-Atlantic Championship, Maxson has demonstrated strength, composure, and a winning mentality. Maxson's athleticism and focus make her a reliable force in defense, and her familiarity with high-level competition is expected to bring confidence and add to a very impressive MSU backline.

Ella Peterson (Defender/Midfielder – Winter Park, Florida) Peterson, from Florida Krush, is a fearless wide player known for her ability to take on defenders and create opportunities. With her quick footwork, agility, and tenacity, Peterson disrupts opponents' defenses and frequently initiates attacks. Peterson is a versatile player who can excel as both a defender and midfielder, making her a valuable asset who can adapt to the Bulldogs' tactical needs in a variety of scenarios.

Adia Symmonds (Midfielder – Tampa, Florida) Symmonds, a versatile and dynamic midfielder from Florida Premier FC, has excelled at every level of competition. Symmonds was named Player of the Match in the 2024 ECNL National Selection Game and also received MVP honors in the TBT Champions League Final. Symmonds has earned multiple conference and state honors, including First Team All-Conference Midfield in 2024. As captain of the 2023 ODP National Team, her leadership and playmaking abilities will bring creativity and strength to the Bulldogs' midfield.
