BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Josh Hubbard and Cameron Matthews will join Chris Jans at the SEC Tipoff '25 event on Tuesday morning at the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Mountain Brook, Alabama.
The trio will meet with various media members and media outlets from across the country which include ESPN, CBS, NCAA and Sirius XM.
SEC Now airing on the SEC Network will have live coverage from media days starting at 10 a.m. CT hosted by Peter Burns, Daymeon Fishback, Pat Bradley and Ron Slay. The Bulldogs are on-tap to join the SEC Network set from 11:10 to 11:25 a.m. CT.
Press conferences for each head coach will stream in their entirety online via SEC Network+ and the ESPN App. Coach Jans' press conference is slated to begin at 10:40 a.m. CT.
As a program, State was listed among teams receiving votes in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll and was picked to finish 10th in the SEC Preseason media poll which also was released on Monday.
The SEC placed nine teams inside the AP Top 25 which include No. 2 Alabama, No. 11 Auburn, No. 12 Tennessee, No. 13 Texas A&M, No. 16 Arkansas, No. 19 Texas, No. 21 Florida, No. 23 Kentucky and No. 24 Ole Miss.
Hubbard was chosen as a Preseason All-SEC Second-Team pick on Monday. State has had at least one player capture All-SEC Preseason honors from the media during three of the last four seasons and in eight of the last 10 seasons since 2015-16.
In three weeks, State faces West Georgia (Nov. 4 – 6:30 p.m. – SEC Network+) during its 2024-25 season opener at Humphrey Coliseum and officially embark on the program's third season under Chris Jans, who has guided State to consecutive NCAA Tournament trips. The Maroon and White are looking to secure three straight NCAA Tournament bids for the third time in program history.
Humphrey Coliseum was one of the nation's most electric environments in 2023-24 and posted the program's fifth highest attendance average for a season. The Bulldogs boasted seven sellouts, the most on record for a season dating back to 2008-09, highlighted by four in a row to conclude the season.

State has secured back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances fueled by a pair of 21-win campaigns with Coach Jans at the helm. The last time the Bulldogs collected back-to-back NCAA Tournament bids was during the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons.
Last season, the Bulldogs captured three victories over Associated Press Top 10 opponents for the first time since 2001-02. State validated its regular season home win over No. 5 Tennessee by upending the top-seeded Vols at the SEC Tournament in addition to defeating No. 8 Auburn at Humphrey Coliseum.
