Logan Earns Exemption Down Under
January 24, 2024 | Men's Golf
VICTORIA, Australia – On the heels of the most successful year of his golfing career, Mississippi State's Hunter Logan will begin his 2024 campaign overseas by competing on the Challenger PGA tour of Australasia. Logan will first compete in the WebEx Players series on January 24-27 in Victoria, Australia before then participating in the Vic Open on February 1-4. Â
The Steens, Mississippi, native earned exemptions to both tournaments by winning the 2023 Dogwood Invitational in Atlanta this summer. After leading the field in the first two days of the tournament, Logan finished at 20-under for the tournament, with a 5-stroke lead over the rest of the field. Â
Since that victory, Logan has had continued success with the Bulldogs over the course of their fall schedule. He kicked off the 2023-24 season with another tournament victory, winning the Visit Knoxville Collegiate while shooting 11-under. He also added two more top-10 finishes this fall, tying for second at the weather-shortened Blessings Collegiate Invitational and tying for eighth at the Kapolei Invitational in December.Â
The graduate student currently stands as the No. 25 golfer in the Clippd Division 1 Individual Rankings and is No. 57 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. Logan will compete as one of a combined 15 amateurs across the two tournaments joining four other Americans in the fields. At the Vic Open, Logan will be joined by Bulldog alumnus William Wann, who teamed with Logan last year on the Bulldog's regional winning squad.Â
Logan is scheduled to tee off the WebEx Players series at 3:40 p.m. CT on Wednesday. He'll play a second round at 8:25 p.m. CT that evening.Â
