ROSEMONT, Ill. – Mia Davidson-Smith was named an MVP in two of three games in Week 2 of Athletes Unlimited play on her way to collecting a career-high weekly total of 514 points. Her total was the second-highest of any player in the league in Week 2, and she now stands in second place overall with 828 points, just 22 points back of the overall leader, Megan Faraimo.

As a result, the former Mississippi State All-American has earned her first career Athletes Unlimited captaincy and will lead the orange team in Week 3.

Davidson-Smith helped her team to a perfect 3-0 record for the week while earning second MVP honors on Saturday and third MVP recognition on Sunday. She also turned in her first career 200-point effort on Saturday.

The week began with a 120-point showing for Davidson-Smith as her team claimed all but one inning's worth of the available win points. She added a base hit to the winning effort, going 1-for-3.

On Saturday, Davidson-Smith went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer while also collecting a single and being intentionally walked. Her team again won all but one inning, allowing her to claim a career-best 208 points. Of those, 58 were stat points, and she was awarded 40 points with her No. 2 MVP nod.

On Sunday, Davidson-Smith's group took home 110 of the 120 available win points for the third time, and she launched a solo homer along the way. She finished with 56 stat points and her fourth MVP selection of her career netted her another 20 points.

Davidson-Smith now leads the league with three home runs, seven RBIs, 15 total bases and an .833 slugging percentage. She is also among the top 10 in batting average (.333, 9th) and on-base percentage (.500, 4th).

Team Davidson (Orange) opens the week at the Little League Softball World Series in Greenville, North Carolina, on Wednesday, Aug. 9 against Team Romero (Blue) at 3:30 p.m. CT. The game will air on ESPN2. Davidson-Smith will return to her home state where she grew up playing with Orange County Little League less than two hours from the World Series site. She is one of nine players in Athletes Unlimited to have played Little League Softball as a child.

When the teams return to the Chicago area for the weekend, Team Davidson will meet Team Alexander (Purple) on Saturday, Aug. 12 at 1:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Her squad will close the week on Sunday night against Team Faraimo (Gold) with first pitch set for 6 p.m. on ESPNU.
