#StateToTheShow: Athletes Unlimited Week 1

ROSEMONT, Ill. – On just one swing, Mia Davidson-Smith cemented herself as the league leader in RBIs after one week of Athletes Unlimited play. On Opening Day, she hammered a grand slam in the top of the second to turn a 2-2 ballgame into a 6-2 lead, and her squad went on to win 8-3 after weather postponed the completion of the game to Monday afternoon.
She was voted MV No. 3 for her winning efforts. It was her second time being voted a game MVP by her peers in her young Athletes Unlimited career. Davidson-Smith also earned third MVP honors in Week 2 of the AUX season after going 3-for-4 with a double, homer and hit-by-pitch against Team Filler on June 19.
On Sunday, Davidson-Smith played a key role in a game-winning seventh-inning rally. With the game tied, 3-3, in the bottom of the seventh, she laced a one-out single down the left-field line to advance Victoria Hayward to third. Hayward would then score on a walk-off squeeze bunt from Sierra Romero.
Davidson-Smith ranks eighth in the league in slugging percentage (.556) and total bases (5).
In Week 2, the former Bulldog will play on Team Romero (Orange) and open the week at 5:30 p.m. CT on Friday night against Team Zerkle (Blue). That contest will air on ESPNU. On Saturday, she meets Team Faraimo (Purple) at 1:30 p.m., and Davidson-Smith's squad closes the week against Team Garcia (Gold) at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Her final two games will stream on ESPN+.
