LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Mississippi State men's basketball was well represented with seven players at the 2023 NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas from July 7-17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion.

Garrison Brooks (New Orleans Pelicans), Iverson Molinar (Milwaukee Bucks), Reggie Perry (Golden State Warriors), D.J. Stewart (Washington Wizards), Craig Sword (Golden State Warriors), Quinndary Weatherspoon (Orlando Magic) and Robert Woodard II (Indiana Pacers) were all in action over the 11-day event.

Perry was one of three players to appear in more than two games and average a double-double with 12.5 points and 10.8 rebounds per contest. He sank 63.0 percent from the floor, 40.0 percent from three-point territory and 82.4 percent at the free throw line.

Weatherspoon dialed up 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.6 steals per game, while Stewart secured 5.8 points per contest on a 52.9 shooting clip.

Brooks provided a solid all-around effort with 6.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. He hit on 68.4 percent from the field and 87.5 percent at the foul line.

In limited action, Molinar and Woodard II each posted 5.0 points per game over three appearances, whereas Woodard II added 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.

Sunday, July 16: Woodard II wrapped summer league action with six points and 11 rebounds against the Detroit Pistons.

Saturday, July 15: Stewart, Sword and Weatherspoon finished the summer league on strong notes … Stewart garnered a summer league best 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting against the Chicago Bulls …   Weatherspoon made it three consecutive games in double figures with 11 points versus the Boston Celtics … Sword added nine points and three points against the Toronto Raptors.

Thursday, July 13: Perry nearly collected his third double-double of the summer league with 17 points and eight rebounds versus the Houston Rockets … Weatherspoon dialed up another stat sheet stuffing performance with 11 points, six assists, six steals and five rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers … Brooks recorded 10 points and four rebounds in an 89-83 win for the New Orleans Pelicans over the Charlotte Hornets … Molinar drained all three of his shots en route to six points and three assists in 12 minutes of action versus the Miami Heat.

Wednesday, July 12: Perry exploded for 20 points and 17 rebounds in an overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He was 7-of-9 shooting and 5-of-6 at the foul line … Weatherspoon provided a solid all-around effort with 17 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals during an overtime setback to the New York Knicks. He scored 11 of 17 points in the second half and overtime … Woodard II notched five points, eight rebounds and two assists versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Friday, July 7: Perry piled up 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds versus Los Angeles Lakers … Brooks secured nine points on 4-of-5 from the floor to go along with three rebounds, two assists and a block against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Monday: July 3: Perry and Sword combined for 14 points on 6-of-12 from the filed coupled with five rebounds and two steals versus the Sacramento Kings.

Mississippi State is led by Chris Jans who guided the Bulldogs back to college basketball's biggest stage with a program single-season record for a first-year coach with 21 victories and a 2023 NCAA Tournament trip.

The Maroon and White are among the nation's leaders returning 80.9 percent of its points, 79.2 percent of its rebounds, 84.0 percent of its assists, 84.6 percent of its steals and 75.2 percent of its blocks from last season.
