STARKVILLE – Mississippi State Athletics achieved classroom success in all 16 of its varsity sports again in the Academic Progress Rate (APR), announced Tuesday by the NCAA.
Â
Once again, MSU exceeded the benchmark APR multi-year rate of 930 in all its intercollegiate sport programs. All programs surpassed the benchmark by at least 41 points. The Bulldogs averaged a rate of 989.4, above the national four-year rate of 984.
Â
The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success by tracking eligibility and progress toward graduation of each student-athlete on scholarship. The current report contains multi-year rates based on the four years from the 2018-19 academic year through the 2021-22 academic year.
Â
To compete in 2023-24 postseason action, teams must achieve a 930 four-year APR in this report. This is the 19th year of publicly reported APRs, including the second-consecutive year after a one-year COVID-19 hiatus.
