STARKVILLE – Yet another Bulldog is headed from State to Sundays.
Mississippi State defensive tackle Cameron Young was picked in the fourth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday. The Seattle Seahawks chose Young with the draft's 123rd overall selection.
Young played in 42 games during his MSU career and made 25 starts. The Crosby, Mississippi, native recorded 107 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass breakups and one interception over his time in Starkville.
Young started all 13 games at State this past season and finished with 38 tackles, three stops for a loss, one sack, one pass deflection and a pair of quarterback hurries.
Two of Young's former MSU teammates are also currently members of the Seahawks. Offensive lineman Charles Cross was a first-round pick by Seattle last year who started every game in his rookie year this past season. Offensive lineman Greg Eiland is also with the team. Eiland signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent two years ago.
With Young's selection, he joins cornerback Emmanuel Forbes as Bulldogs taken in this year's draft. Forbes became the 16th State player all-time and fifth in the last five years to be selected in the first round when the Washington Commanders took him with the 16th overall selection on Thursday.
