No. 16 MSU, Endicott Tied For Second Going Into Final Round

FRANKLIN, Tenn.ย โย No.ย 16ย Mississippi Stateย willย head into the final round of the Mason Rudolphย Championshipย tied for second alongside No. 14 Tennessee.ย Both teams sitย 17ย strokes back from host No. 1 Vanderbilt.ย
The Bulldogsย are 10-under through 36 holes afterย shooting 6-under as a team in the second round.ย State's sixย golfers combined forย 23 birdies for the day.
"I am pleased by how we handled the day," head coachย Dusty Smithย said. "I thought our guys really battled hard and handled adversity throughout the round. We were a little sluggish on the frontย [nine] but we did a nice job on the back, staying patient and letting the round come to us. We need to make sureย we continue doing the simple things well. We didn't do a good enough jobย on the front nine executing the simple shots."
Garrett Endicottย sits in aย six-way tie for the runner-up spotย going into the final round of the regular season. Heย sank seven birdies on his way toย shooting 4-under 67, recording his eighth round in the 60s for the season.ย The freshman made three consecutive birdies on holes No.ย 4-6 and then went back-to-back on the Nos. 13 and 14 holes.ย
Ruan Pretoriusย sits in aย tie for eighth with North Florida'sย Davis Lee and Vanderbilt's Cole Sherwood.ย The graduate also shot 4-under 67ย with three pairs of back-to-back birdiesย for the day. He isย shooting 5-under through 36 played.ย
Alejandro Pedrycย isย in a four-way tieย for 21st, shooting even goingย into round three.ย
Ford Cleggย andย Pedro Cruz Silvaย areย part of a five-way tie for 25th. Both playersย shot pairs of back-to-back birdies, combining for seven in the round.ย Hunter Loganย is tied forย 39th.ย
Logan will tee off first for Mississippi State at 9:40 a.m. CT followed by Clegg, Pedryc, Pretorius and Endicott inย 10-minute increments. Cruz Silva will tee off atย 10:03 a.m. CT with the individual pairings.ย
"We are excited for our last regular season round tomorrow," Smith added. "We need toย continue to build off the momentum we have."
