Bulldogs In Second Going Into Final Round Of Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga.ย โย No. 24 Mississippi Stateย ended the second round of the 43rd Schenkel Invitational in second place,ย 11ย strokes behind the leader and host No. 19 Georgia Southern.
Stateย matched its Round 1ย team total of 18ย birdies and added two eagles. The Bulldogsย shot the best second round of the field, shootingย 8-underย 280,ย andย four different playersย shot under par for the day.ย
Hunter Loganย finished the day in a tie for fourthย just four strokes back from the leader, Georgiaย Southern'sย Benย Carr. He carded a bogey-free front nine and is shooting 4-under through 36 holes.ย
Ruan Pretoriusย jumped into the top 10ย after the second round, sitting in a four-way tie for ninth. He shot 71 for the day, totaling five birdiesย andย shootingย 2-underย going into the final 18.ย
Garrett Endicottย andย Ford Cleggย both made jumps intoย aย tie for 13th with six other players. Endicottย carded a 68 to record his fifth round in the 60s inย seven career tournaments.ย Heย sank fourย birdies and eagledย his first hole of the round.
Cleggย shot 70 with a bogey-free front nine and three birdies for the day.ย
Austin Vukovitsย cardedย three birdies and an eagle on his final hole of the roundย to finish with a 71. He made the second-largest jump on the team, moving up 19 spotsย toย a tie for 41st.ย Pedro Cruz Silvaย madeย three birdies and finished the day tied for 60th.
Vukovitsย will teeย off for theย finalย round at 9:00ย a.m. CTย from the No. 1 teeย followed byย Clegg,ย Endicott,ย Pretoriusย and Logan in nine-minute increments. Cruz Silva will tee off atย 7:57ย a.m. CT from theย No. 10 tee.
