MSU Men’s Track and Field Ranked No. 19 In Latest USTFCCCA Poll

STARKVILLE – Following a record-breaking weekend of action to wrap up the indoor regular season, the Mississippi State men's track and field program is ranked No. 19 in the latest USTFCCCA polls.
Mississippi State is one of 10 SEC programs currently ranked in the top 25 in the latest National Track & Field Rating Index following a weekend of standout performances by the Bulldogs.
At last weekend's split meet, Navasky Anderson (800m), Cameron Crump (LJ) and Tony Jones (HJ) each posted top-10 national marks in their respective events. The trio each sit inside qualifying position for the national championships (March 10-11; Albuquerque, N.M.).
Crump's first-place mark of 8.21m (26-11.25) in the long jump set a new school record and facility record at the Tiger Paw Invitational. He currently ranks second nationally and first in the SEC following his performance at the Tiger Paw Invite this past weekend.
At the Music City Challenge, Anderson ran the fastest 800m ever by a Jamaican-born athlete on his way to a first-place finish with a time of 1:46.58. Anderson's time currently ranks second in the SEC and fifth nationally.
On Friday in Nashville, Jones claimed first place in the men's high jump with a personal-best mark of 2.20m (7-02.50), which ranks third in the SEC and tied for 10th nationally following the weekend.
MSU will return to action on Feb. 24-25 when the Bulldogs travel to Fayetteville, Ark., for the 2023 SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
