Postgame Notes: No. 21 MSU vs. Southern

TEAM NOTES

Mississippi State was unable to hold onto a late second half lead as Southern came back to earn a 60-59 victory over the Bulldogs.
It marked State's first non-conference home loss under Coach Jans as the Bulldogs dropped to 10-1 over a two-year span.
Overall, State has held 16 of their 22 non-conference opponents to 60 points or less under the direction of Coach Jans.
In 84 halves over two seasons with Coach Jans at the helm, State has limited its opponents to 30 points or less during a half on 48 occasions (57.1 percent).
The Maroon and White scored 24 of the game's 30 points off the bench. Over the last six games, State has outscored its opponents, 242-98, in bench points.
