Ilana Izquierdo Named to 2023 SEC Community Service Team

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State soccer standout, Ilana Izquierdo, was recognized for her exceptional commitment to community service on Wednesday as she was named to the SEC Community Service Team. Izquierdo dedicated herself throughout the year to various community service activities, making a significant impact on the Starkville community.
Ilana's dedication to community service was evident in her participation in a range of activities that demonstrated her commitment to giving back. Beginning on February 10th, 2023, she actively participated in The Boys & Girls Club, playing soccer and assisting with a clinic for children in the aftercare program.
On March 4th, 2023, she continued her dedication by assisting with the MSU Soccer Clinic. Izquierdo's expertise and enthusiasm added value to the event, benefiting children aspiring to become soccer stars. On March 23rd, 2023, she organized and sorted goods at Bully's Closet & Pantry on the Mississippi State University campus, helping ensure that students in need had access to essential resources.
Izquierdo's commitment to community service extended to the early part of the year when, on April 2nd, 2023, she actively contributed to the StarkVegas Football Jamboree by assisting with a flag football tournament. Returning to Bully's Closet & Pantry on April 27th, 2023, Ilana continued her efforts to organize and sort goods, making it easier for students to access essential supplies. On April 26th, 2023, she volunteered at Casserole Kitchen, where she helped distribute meals to those in need, providing a warm and comforting meal to those who needed it most.
Continuing her commitment, on July 8th, 2023, Ilana engaged with residents at the Montgomery Gardens Assisted Living Home, participating in activities and interactions that brought joy and companionship to the elderly residents.On July 23rd, 2023, she contributed her time to the Starkville Strong Neighbors Helping Neighbors initiative, assisting in packaging and distributing meals to those in need within the Starkville community.
Most recently, on October 13th, 2023, she joined the Volley-O-Ween event, engaging in various games and activities with children in the Starkville Community before a thrilling volleyball match.
Ilana Izquierdo's active participation in these diverse community service events exemplifies her unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in her local community.
