#FromStateToSundays: Week 3 Update

STARKVILLE – Fletcher Cox is in his 11^th season in the NFL and continues to wreak havoc in opposing backfields.

The six-time Pro Bowler recorded three tackles, 1.5 sacks, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries in the Philadelphia Eagles 24-8 win at the Washington Commanders.

Cox is now tied for eighth in the NFL with three sacks and ranks sixth in sack yardage (26.5) this season. The Yazoo City native is also fourth in franchise history with 61 career sacks.

Another former Pro Bowler, J.T. Gray, notched his first career half-sack for the New Orleans Saints. Gray combined with Carl Granderson to sack Baker Mayfield of the Carolina Panthers on third down for a loss of nine yards and force a punt.

Three-time Pro Bowl selection Chris Jones made a pair of tackles – including one for loss – for the Kansas City Chiefs. Jones has now made four stops behind the line of scrimmage this season and is tied for third in the NFL in that category.

Logan Cooke only punted once for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday but he certainly made it a good one. Cooke booted a 56-yarder down to the Los Angeles Chargers' 9-yard line.

Elgton Jenkins and rookie Charles Cross played every snap on the offensive line for the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks respectively.

MSU's other rookie, cornerback Martin Emerson Jr., posted four tackles for the Cleveland Browns.

Two former Bulldogs – Gerri Green (Tennessee Titans) and Makai Polk (Baltimore Ravens) – were practice squad members during Week 3 but were both released on Sept. 27.
