#StateToTheShow: Athletes Unlimited Week 1

ROSEMONT, Ill. – It didn't take Mia Davidson long to make an impact. Through one week of play in Athletes Unlimited, Davidson sits in 12th place with 290 points.
Davidson and DJ Sanders played on Team Eberle (Blue) over the weekend, winning two of three games. The rookie was the difference in their second win, collecting her first professional hit and scoring the game's only run. It was the first 1-0 game in AU softball history.
Batting fourth and playing left field, Davidson made her debut on Friday night in a 4-3 victory over Team Chidester. She didn't have a hit but was walked and hit by a pitch.
Davidson again walked and was hit by a pitch in Sunday's final game. She did not have a defensive opportunity in her three games, but she posted a .545 on-base percentage. Her three walks are second in the league to only Amanda Lorenz (6), and she is tied for the league lead in hit-by-pitches (2).
Sanders is currently in 25th place with 248 points. She pinch hit three times in three games, drawing a walk in her final plate appearance.
The Bulldog pair will be split up in Week 2. Davidson remains a member of Team Eberle, now Gold as Eberle leads the league. Sanders was drafted to Team Jaquish (Orange). The first games of Week 2 will air on ESPNU on Friday, Aug. 5 at 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. CT. Sanders and Davidson go head-to-head on Sunday, Aug. 7 at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
Meanwhile, Annie Willis and Fa Leilua began the final series of the WPF season on Monday night. The Smash It Sports Vipers will play six more games over Aug. 1-6 in Viera, Florida.
