STARKVILLE – Mississippi State football training camp is ongoing, but the Bulldogs aren't the only ones getting in game shape ahead of the September 3 season opener.
Davis Wade Stadium is undergoing its own preparations with the First Saturday in StarkVegas just around the corner. The home of the Maroon and White might be the second-oldest FBS on-campus football stadium, but with continuous improvements through the years and the most recent additions and adjustments, the facility remains one of the country's premier destinations to witness college football.
So, what's been up lately at Davis Wade? Let's take a quick look.
Building The Balconies
In June, MSU revealed The Balconies at Davis Wade Stadium. The new, premier seating option that in many ways serves as an in-venue extension of a tailgating scene features 22 total spots that will accommodate eight or more people each.
The Balconies quickly sold out after being announced, proving yet again that Mississippi State remains at the forefront when it comes to developing unique seating options that meet the varied needs of the Bulldog fan base. All that's been left to do is complete the project and begin letting season ticket holders move into their new spaces later this month.
The north set of 11 is nearing completion with the south following suit, and the Balconies will be good to go in plenty of time for kickoff in September.

East Side Comfort
It's not a new area, but there will be a new level of comfort in the East side club level this fall. That's because new, padded chairbacks have been installed throughout the location. And that's not the only facelift on the East side. New carpet will also be in the hallways of the suite level. Additionally, a new, premium catering partner has been brought on board to elevate the food and beverage experience within the space.

Bettering The Video Boards
When you check out the replay of the latest Bulldog touchdown in 2022, you'll be able to do so on brand new video board screens. The panels on both of the old boards are being replaced. Not only that, but they'll be operated out of a new control room where MSU's incredibly talented broadcast and live events staff will use its skills to enhance your game day experience.
In addition, the ribbon boards on the East and West sides of the stadium are being replaced and will now be supplemented with three ribbon boards that'll wrap around the North end zone above the student section.
The new video and ribbon boards will feature a new layout which will provide a permanent out-of-town scoreboard, a closed captioning space, and multiple dedicated team and player stats sections. Additionally, the new control room will provide opportunities to further enhance the experience through expanded replay offerings, additional "Game Break" updates from across the league, and an elevated game presentation through new animations, graphics, and videos. The combination of the new video and ribbon boards will give fans inside Davis Wade a more immersive atmosphere than ever before.
Touching Things Up
No stone is going unturned in making sure Davis Wade Stadium is looking its best for a new season. Several smaller projects are underway as well.
The venue is being pressure washed. Painting jobs have been ongoing, too.
The exterior of the M-Club building is getting refreshed. So is the South video board frame. Also, the ramps on each corner of the stadium are being sandblasted and painted.
