SEATTLE, Wash., – Former Mississippi State great K.J. Wright is calling it a career after 11 seasons in the NFL.

Wright signed a one-day contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday in order to retire with the organization in which he spent a decade playing for and finished as the franchise's No. 3 all-time tackler. He helped the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII, earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2016 and was a nominee for the 2018 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
Â
The 33-year old outside linebacker concluded his professional career with 992 tackles, 13.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, nine recoveries and six interceptions in 161 regular season games. He spent last season with the Las Vegas Raiders where he appeared in 17 games, made eight starts and totaled 51 tackles.
Â
Wright arrived at Mississippi State as a three-star recruit out of Olive Branch (Miss.) High School in 2007 and lettered for the Bulldogs all four seasons. He played in 47 games and made 34 starts during his tenure in Starkville and made 259 tackles, 23.5 for loss, nine sacks, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and was MSU's second-leading tackler for three straight seasons from 2008-10.
