Bulldogs Report To NFL Camps

STARKVILLE – The last of the 32 NFL teams reported to camp on Tuesday and among them are 29 former Mississippi State players.
Headlining that list of former Bulldogs are J.T Gray, Chris Jones, Jeffery Simmons and Darius Slay, all of whom were selected to the Pro Bowl last season.
Gray served as a captain for the New Orleans Saints last year en route to being named an All-Pro for the second time in his career. Jones led the Kansas City Chiefs in sacks for the fourth consecutive year, notching nine in 2021 and earned his third Pro Bowl nod. Simmons stacked up 8.5 sacks for the Tennessee Titans and made the Pro Bowl for the first time while Slay played in the Pro Bowl for the fourth time after making three interceptions and scoring three defensive touchdowns last season for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Slay's teammate, Fletcher Cox, is a six-time Pro Bowler and is entering his 11th season with the Eagles. Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins was a Pro Bowl selection in 2020 while Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is a two-time Pro Bowl participant and the 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Three members of MSU's 2021 team enter camp on NFL rosters as well. Offensive tackle Charles Cross was the ninth overall selection by the Seattle Seahawks and cornerback Martin Emerson was drafted in the third round by the Cleveland Browns. Wide receiver Makai Polk, who set the single-season MSU record with 105 catches last fall, signed with the Baltimore Ravens following the draft.
Also suiting up in the NFL this season are Jonathan Abram, Gerri Green and Isaiah Zuber (Raiders), Denico Autry (Titans), Deion "Shaq" Calhoun and Montez Sweat (Commanders), Logan Cooke (Jaguars), Cameron Dantzler (Vikings), Greg Eiland and Gabe Jackson (Seahawks), Willie Gay Jr. (Chiefs), Kylin Hill, Kobe Jones, Osirus Mitchell and Preston Smith (Packers), Tyre Phillips (Ravens), Will Redmond (Colts), Marquiss Spencer (Broncos) and Darryl Williams (Patriots).
The first NFL preseason game is set for Aug. 4 pitting Cooke's Jacksonville Jaguars against the Las Vegas Raiders' trifecta of Abram, Green and Zuber in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio.
