
Preseason Top 25 Opponent Coming To The Hump

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Mississippi State men's basketball will play host to TCU, a consensus top 25 preseason pick, during this year's SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Saturday, January 28 at Humphrey Coliseum announced Thursday by both conferences.
The 10th annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge will feature 10 games televised by ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU during the last Saturday of January for the eighth straight season. Game times and television network assignments will be announced at a later date.
The SEC holds a 26-23 advantage over the last five seasons on the strength of winning the event three times since 2017-18. The Bulldogs provided the challenge clinching victory, a 95-56 rout of Iowa State, in 2020-21.
TCU has won three of the four all-time meetings against State. The Bulldogs claimed at 64-60 victory during the 1989-90 regular season finale at Humphrey Coliseum. Greg Carter led four State players in double figures with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Mississippi State is accepting new season ticket deposits for just $50 for the upcoming the 2022-23 season. A new season ticket deposit will provide purchasers with the opportunity to secure their spot inside The Hump immediately following season ticket renewals. Current season ticket holder renewals will receive a renewal later this summer.
