Steely Falls Seconds Short of Finals Appearance

EUGENE, Ore. – In her first appearance at the National Championships, Mississippi State's Sydney Steely fell just short of advancing to Saturday's 800m final. The Hoover, Ala., native ran a time of 2:03.85 – just 0.21 seconds away from tying her personal best, and only 0.42 seconds from securing the final qualifying spot.
SEC champion, Navasky Anderson is the lone Bulldog remaining who is still competing for the Maroon and White. The Bulldog will run in the men's 800m final Friday evening (9:14 p.m. CT). Anderson's semifinal run of 1:45.94 was the fastest time of the entire semifinal event.
