BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – For the first time in her Mississippi State career, Sydney Steely is headed to the National Championships (June 8-11). The Hoover, Alabama, native successfully punched her ticket to Oregon by finishing second in her 800-meter heat with a run of 2:04.46.

Steely joins teammate and Southeastern Conference champion, Navasky Anderson, as the two MSU representatives in the 800-meter event. Anderson will enter Oregon as the men's side's second-fastest runner out of the East preliminary round.

The other two Bulldogs to travel west are Cameron Crump in men's long jump, and DJ Jónsson in the men's javelin. Crump booked his trip by becoming the leading entry out of the East after a first-place, personal-best performance in the long jump. Jónsson secured his place by throwing a top-five throw in the javelin.
