Women’s Golf in Third Place Heading into Final Round of Tallahassee Regional

Tallahassee, Fla. – Mississippi State women's golf completed the second round of the Tallahassee Regional on Tuesday. Ashley Gilliam and Hannah Levi led the pack in the second round as State finished third for the second consecutive day.

Ashley Gilliam picked up exactly where she left off on Tuesday, birding three holes on the day. Gilliam currently leads the field with 10 birdies throughout the tournament. In the second round, Gilliam posted a score of 74 (2-over) to finish the day tied for third (1-under) heading into Wednesday's final round.

Hannah Levi used the second round to climb up the leaderboard. Levi carded a score of 74 (2-under) on the day to move to a tie for 12^th (4-over). Levi has sunk the third most pars of the event so far with 24.

Blair Stockett is tied for 20^th (6-over). Stockett rolled in 11 pars on the day and earned birdies on Hole 1 and Hole 14 to tally a score of 76 (4-over) on Tuesday. Stockett now has the fourth most pars throughout the regional with 23.

The freshman duo of Julia Lopez Ramirez and Ana Pina Ortega round out the scorecard for the Bulldogs. Lopez Ramirez is tied for 30^th (8-over), while Pina Ortega is tied for 36^th (9-over). Lopez Ramirez has the second most pars of the field, rolling in 25.

Mississippi State will be paired with No. 10 UCLA and No. 16 Florida State for the final round of the Tallahassee Regional. State will tee it up on Hole 1 at approximately 9:06 AM ET.

At the conclusion of stroke play on Wednesday, the top four teams will advance onto the NCAA Women's Golf Championships at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Quoting Coach Ewing
"We got off to a decent start today and played pretty steady and solid through the front nine. We didn't do a whole lot on that front nine that created any stress. That stretch of holes 10-13 is one of the toughest on the course and it really got to us today. We needed to do a better job of not letting things pile up in that stretch of holes. Outside of that stretch I think we played some solid and steady golf. We're hungry and we know we are playing good golf. Tomorrow is all about focus. If we keep our minds where they need to be then we'll be just fine. We just need to worry about ourselves and take care of our own business."
