Lopez Ramirez Earns Second SEC Freshman of the Week Honor

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State women's golf's Julia Lopez Ramirez has done it yet again. With another impressive finish in the Liz Murphey Collegiate Invitational, Lopez Ramirez has added a second SEC Freshman of the Week accolade to her growing list of SEC weekly awards.
Lopez Ramirez secured her fourth weekly accolade from the Southeastern Conference after previously being named the SEC Golfer of the Week on Feb. 10 and March 3 and the SEC Freshman of the Week on March 11. Lopez Ramirez leads the SEC in weekly honors with four and she is the first Bulldog to win multiple SEC Freshman of the Week honors in a career.
In her most recent tournament, Lopez Ramirez finished fourth to secure her sixth top-five finish in just her ninth collegiate event. Lopez Ramirez used a quick start in the first round to climb up to the top of the leaderboard and finished the first day 2-under par (70). In the second and third rounds, Lopez Ramirez used back-to-back rounds of 1-over to finish fourth with a final tally of 2-over par (218). Throughout the tournament, Lopez Ramirez rolled in the most birdies in the field with 14.
