Steely Runs Program’s Second Fastest Time on Day Two

NASHVILLE, Tenn. / CLEMSON, S.C. – Action at both the Music City Challenge and Tiger Paw Invite concluded on Saturday as Sydney Steely finished 0.32 seconds short of breaking a school record in the women's 800 meters in Nashville. Her 2:05.77 run is now the second fastest time in Mississippi State track and field women's indoor history.
Over in Clemson, Rosealee Cooper continued where she left off, securing MSU's second fastest indoor time in the women's 200 meters on Saturday.
The Bulldogs head to South Bend, Ind., Feb. 18-19, for the Alex Wilson Invite.

- Gram Russell and Ava Weems each improve their personal time in the men's and women's 3000m, respectively (Music City)
- Slater Richardson, Ashley Melcherts and Grace Ritchie all improve their personal times in the men's and women's 800m, respectively (Music City)
- Leon Clarke, Tyrese Reid and Samuel Smith all extend their personal time in the men's 800m (Tiger Paw)
- Cooper, Shayla Felder, Keldrick Edwards and Jordan Barrow all extend personal times in the women's and men's 200m, respectively (Tiger Paw)
- Shayla Broughton extended her personal best in the women's 60-meter hurdles, as her and teammate Asia Poe advanced all the way to the finals, where Broughton finished second and Poe finished sixth
- Poe also improved her personal best in the shot put
