STARKVILLE – Mississippi State has been widely known for its defensive prowess over the years.
Former Bulldog defensive standouts produced nine tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks during Week 11 of NFL action. Montez Sweat, Chris Jones and Preston Smith all produced multi-sack games for their respective teams while Willie Gay Jr., and Jeffery Simmons each brought the quarterback down once.

For Sweat, it was his second multi-sack game of the season and fourth of his young career. Jones tied his career-high with three tackles for loss and brought his sack total for the season to nine, which is tied for fifth in the NFL. Jones also has a 92.2 pass rush and overall defensive grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF), both of which rank third in the league.
Smith notched his 12th career multi-sack game while Gay matched his career highs with 11 tackles and two tackles for loss to go along with his fourth career sack. Simmons' sack brought his season total to 6.5 and gave him an even 20 for his career.

Rookie cornerback Martin Emerson racked up seven tackles for the Cleveland Browns and has now made 18 tackles over his past three contests.
Another former MSU defensive star, Denico Autry, made an impact on special teams. Autry blocked an extra point during the Tennessee Titans' 27-17 win over the Green Bay Packers for his 10th career block – the most in the NFL since 2014.

Dak Prescott finished the Dallas Cowboys' 40-3 rout of the Minnesota Vikings with a 139.3 quarterback rating. Prescott completed 22 of 25 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns, both of which exceeded 30 yards.
One of Prescott's scoring strikes went for 68 yards and now has 151 career touchdown passes, the most by a Cowboys quarterback in his first seven sevens.

Elgton Jenkins started at left guard for Green Bay and played every offensive snap. Jenkins produced the highest pass blocking grade (89.1) by a Packer last week. Tyre Phillips started at right tackle for the New York Giants and did not allow a single pressure.
Will Redmond was signed by the Houston Texans last week and made his season debut, recording one solo tackle on special teams.
