STARKVILLE – The NFL is nearing the midway point of the regular season and Week 8 features 10 games involving former Mississippi State standouts.
Two of those contests are head-to-head battles between Bulldogs as Johnathan Abram and the Las Vegas Raiders visit J.T. Gray and the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at noon. Later that day, several former MSU offensive line standouts will meet when Charles Cross, Gabe Jackson and the Seattle Seahawks welcome the New York Giants and Tyre Phillips to town at 3:25.
Sunday's action will actually start across the pond as the Denver Broncos take on the Jacksonville Jaguars and punter Logan Cooke. That matchup is slated for an 8:30 a.m. kickoff.
There will also be a pair of primetime games involving former State stars. Elgton Jenkins, Kobe Jones and Preston Smith of the Green Bay Packers invade the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. The following night, rookie cornerback Martin Emerson will get his first taste in the Monday Night Football spotlight as his Cleveland Browns host their rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles are all playing at home at noon on Sunday. Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are looking for their second straight win as they host the Chicago Bears while Dantzler and the Vikings welcome the Arizona Cardinals.
Fletcher Cox and Darius Slay hope to do their part defensively to help the Eagles stay unbeaten when they take on their cross-state rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Tennessee Titans' defensive line duo of Denico Autry and Jeffery Simmons will be in action at the Houston Texans Sunday at 3:05 p.m. and later, Montez Sweat and the Washington Commanders travel to take on the Indianapolis Colts at 3:25 p.m.
