STARKVILLE – The Kansas City Chiefs have reached the AFC Championship Game for the fourth consecutive season and will have a pair of Mississippi State players on defense today as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals for a shot at the Super Bowl.
Defensive tackle Chris Jones and linebacker Willie Gay Jr. will try to punch their second-straight ticket to the Super Bowl as they clash with Cincinnati in Arrowhead Stadium at 2 p.m. on CBS.
The Bengals got the better of Kansas City during Week 17 earlier this month. The Chiefs led 28-17 at halftime in that contest but Cincinnati came roaring back for a 34-31 win on a last second field goal.
Jones and Gay both started that game. Jones made four tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and three quarterback hurries against the Bengals on Jan. 2 while Gay tallied a pair of stops.
