Postgame Notes: MSU vs. Ole Miss

TEAM NOTES
- Mississippi State earned a series split against Ole Miss with a convincing 78-60 victory at Humphrey Coliseum. The win extends the Bulldogs all-time series lead to 147-119.
- With the win, the Bulldogs propelled themselves to 13-5 overall, 4-2 SEC to remain in sole possession of fourth place in the conference standings. State could climb into a third-place tie with Texas A&M if the Aggies fall at Arkansas later tonight.
- Mississippi State has won 11 of its 12 decisions at home this season, fueled by four wins over SEC opponents. Three of the four SEC victories have come by 10-plus points.
- Mississippi State had all five members of its starting five reach double figures. It marked the first time in 2021-22 that the Bulldogs had five players capture double-digit points in a game.
- The Maroon and White improved to 9-1 when at least four players eclipse 10-plus points. State has accomplished the feat in three of its four SEC wins.
- Mississippi State outscored the Rebels by a 36-19 margin in the second half. The Bulldogs piled up 20 of the game's 24 paint points during the second 20 minutes. The Maroon and White also forced Ole Miss into 12 second-half turnovers which resulted in 13 points.
- The 19 second-half points scored by Ole Miss tie the lowest second-half point total for a SEC opponent under Ben Howland. State also limited Ole miss to 19 second-half points during a 69-44 rout of the Rebels on March 7, 2020.
- The Bulldogs opened the game up with a 15-0 spurt midway through the second half which extended a 51-49 lead at the 13:21 mark to a 66-49 spread with 7:06 remaining.
- Mississippi State won the rebounding battle, 29-21. It marked the 16th time in 18 games that the Bulldogs have outrebounded their opponent this season.
- The Maroon and White sank 29-of-53 from the floor, 6-of-18 from three-point territory and hit on 14-of-17 at the foul line.
- State has connected for over a 50 percent shooting clip during three of its last four games and is 8-1 on the season when accomplishing the feat.
PLAYER NOTES
Iverson Molinar
- Paced the Bulldogs with 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
- The 20 points enabled Molinar to become the 41st player in program history with 1,000 career points and eighth to accomplish the feat under Ben Howland.
- Extended his streak to 18 consecutive games in double figures to start the season.
- Marked his 14th career game of 20-plus points, State improved to 12-2 in those games.
- Secured his fourth game of 20-plus points this season and third in his last four outings.
- Accounted for a career-high tying four steals
- Pitched in 10 points coupled with a career-high seven assists and two steals.
- Double-digit points during six of his last eight games.
- Multiple steals for the 12th time this season
- Multiple three-pointers hit for the 10th time this season.
- Provided eight of his 11 points during the second half.
- Garnered 10-plus points for the 10th time this season.
- MSU is 9-1 when Jeffries reaches double figures.
- Added four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
- Returned to double digits with a 17-point performance on 6-of-11 from the field.
- Connected on a season's best 5-of-6 at the foul line.
- Pulled down four rebounds and collected two steals.
- Tallied 11 points, four rebounds and a season's best four assists.
- 10+ points in six of his eight appearances.
- Top performers off State's bench included Cameron Matthews and Javian Davis.
