#FromStateToSundays: Divisional Playoff Preview
January 22, 2022 | Football
STARKVILLE – Five former Mississippi State players will be in action during the NFL Divisional Playoffs this weekend with hopes of advancing one step closer to a Super Bowl berth.
Denico Autry, Jeffery Simmons and the Tennessee Titans kick things off at home on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. taking on the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Titans received a first-round bye as the AFC's top seeded team having posted a 12-5 record during the regular season and winning the South division for the second straight year.
It will be the first meeting between Tennessee and the Bengals this season.
In Saturday's nightcap, Preston Smith and the Green Bay Packers take to the frozen tundra as they welcome the San Francisco 49ers to Lambeau Field.
The Packers edged the 49ers in San Francisco 30-28 during Week 3. Smith started that game at outside linebacker and finished with four tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack and three quarterback hurries.
The Kansas City Chiefs will wrap up the weekend on Sunday night as they host the Buffalo Bills at Arrowhead Stadium.
Linebacker Willie Gay Jr. and defensive tackle Chris Jones will be leading the Chiefs' defensive charge in an attempt to reach the AFC Championship game for a fourth consecutive season.
Kansas City fell at home to the Bills 38-20 back on Oct. 10. Gay recorded a pair of tackles during the previous matchup but Jones missed that contest due to injury.
