
Newest Bulldogs Begin Classes

STARKVILLE – So far, eight newcomers to the Mississippi State football program have enrolled in classes and are on campus at MSU for the spring semester. Each Bulldog will be eligible to participate in spring practice for head coach Mike Leach's squad.
The group of enrollees includes:
-      Defensive Back Marcus Banks – Houston, Texas/Dekaney HS (Alabama)
-      Kicker Massimo Biscardi – Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West HS (Coastal Carolina)
-      Defensive Lineman Jacarius Clayton – Tupelo, Miss./Tupelo HS
-      Wide Receiver Jarnorris Hopson – Tunica, Miss./Horn Lake HS
-      Offensive Lineman Percy Lewis – Sallis Miss./McAdams HS (Mississippi Gulf Coast CC)
-      Quarterback Braedyn Locke – Rockwall, Texas/Rockwall HS
-      Wide Receiver Jordan Mosley – Mobile, Ala./McGill-Toolen HS (Northwestern University)
-      Defensive Back DeCarlos Nicholson – Petal, Miss./Petal HS (Mississippi Gulf Coast CC)
Banks comes to Mississippi State following two seasons at Alabama, where he arrived in Tuscaloosa as a consensus four-star player by all major outlets. This past season Banks played in eight games for the Crimson Tide, collecting six tackles and an interception.
Biscardi joins the Bulldogs after four successful seasons at Coastal Carolina. For his career, he's played in 46 games and connected on 46 of his 57 field goal attempts, including making seven of his eight tries last season. He was named a semifinalist for the 2021 Lou Groza National Collegiate Place Kicker Award.
Clayton is among the state of Mississippi's top defensive players in the Class of 2022. He's rated as a four-star performer by Rivals and is a consensus Top-20 prospect from the Magnolia State.
Hopson proved to be an elite athlete at Horn Lake (Miss.) High School. This past season, as a senior, Hopson caught 30 passes for 479 yards and four touchdowns, as well as rushed for 408 yards and 10 scores.
Lewis spent the last two years at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The massive offensive lineman is rated as high as the No. 2 junior college prospect in the nation.
Locke was tabbed as a four-star quarterback by multiple outlets. He holds the Texas Class 6A career record for career passing touchdowns and is second all-time in passing yards.
Mosley was a four-star recruit out of high school. He comes to MSU from Northwestern, where he stood as the highest-rated wide receiver commit in program history per 247Sports.
Nicholson is nearly universally rated as one of the country's top junior college products. In 2021 as a corner for Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, he made 19 tackles – including two for a loss, and he broke up 16 passes.
