TEAM NOTES
- Mississippi State bounced back with an 88-72 win over Georgia to improve to 11-4, 2-1 in the SEC. The Bulldogs have won nine of their 10 games at Humphrey Coliseum this season.
- The victory also marked State's fifth consecutive win over Georgia which set a program record and evened the all-time series at 58-58. Four of those five wins for the Maroon and White have come by 10-plus points over UGA.
- The Bulldogs racked up 53 points during the second half, the most in a single half this season. The 53 second-half points also are the third-most for State under Ben Howland versus a SEC opponent and most since scoring 58 points versus Tennessee (02/01/2020).
- Mississippi State connected for 29 of its season's best 37 field goals inside the paint en route to a healthy 58-28 advantage in paint points. The 58 points in the paint also were a season-high.
- The Bulldogs had four players come away with double figures for the ninth time in 15 games this season. The Bulldogs are 8-1 when at least four players accomplish the feat.
- Mississippi State had four players secure multiple steals and four players combine for a season-high 10 blocks. The last time the Bulldogs had 10-plus blocks versus a SEC opponent was against No. 8 Auburn (01/04/2020).
- State overcame a halftime deficit for the first time this season and for the 23rd time under Ben Howland. Overall, 14 of the 23 occasions have come versus SEC foes.
PLAYER NOTES
Iverson Molinar
- Set a career-high 28 points on an 11-of-18 shooting performance and a 5-of-6 effort at the free throw line.
- Garnered 17 of his 28 points and six of his career-high tying seven assists after halftime.
- Extended his streak to 15 consecutive games in double figures to start the season.
- Marked the 12th time in his career that the Panama native has piled up 20-plus points. The Bulldogs move to 10-2 in those games.
- Tallied his third game with 20-plus points and 5-plus assists.
- Filled the stats sheet with 10 points, four rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.
- Notched 10-plus points for the second time this season and third time in his career.
- First time in double figures against a SEC opponent.
- Matched a season-high four assists for the fourth time this season.
- Seventh game with multiple steals this season.
- Filled the box score with seven points, five rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
- The five assists equal a season-high, while the three blocks set a MSU career-high and give him five games with multiple blocks this season.
- Collected multiple steals for the 11th time in 15 games this season.
- Paced the Bulldogs with a career-high four blocks.
- Mississippi State's bench made major contributions with a season's best 31 points on a combined 13-of-22 from the floor.
- Javian Davis set a MSU career-high with 12 points during a SEC game and also grabbed a team-leading six rebounds.
- Andersson Garcia provided a career-best 10 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting. His top five scoring performances are this season, and it marked the Dominican Republic's first career game in double figures.
- Rocket Watts tacked on seven points.
