Women’s Golf Back in Action at Mason Rudolph Championship

STARKVILLE – The Mississippi State women's golf team returns to the course this weekend at the Mason Rudolph Championship. The tournament will feature 15 teams and will be played Sept. 24-26 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.
The Bulldogs are one of six top-25 teams in the Golfweek rankings competing this weekend at Vanderbilt's Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. Mississippi State enters this tournament ranked 25th in the polls and will be joined by No. 4 Florida, No. 6 Georgia, No. 12 Vanderbilt, No. 17 Clemson and No. 20 Chattanooga. Rounding out the field this weekend is Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon and Washington.
MSU finished seventh at the Sam Golden Invitational last time out shooting 11-under par (853) for the event, which was the fifth-lowest team total all-time after 54 holes. The Bulldogs were led by a record-breaking debut performance of Julia Lopez Ramirez who tied for first and finished 14-under last time out. Lopez Ramirez will take the number one spot in the lineup this weekend.
Valeria Mendizabal is second in the lineup coming off a 2-under par performance at the Sam Golden Invitational. Blair Stockett will take the third spot followed by Hannah Levi and Lauren Miller. Freshman Elle Fox will compete as individual, making her collegiate debut.
State will tee off between 9:30-10:10 a.m. on Friday. The No. 25 ranked Bulldogs will begin play accompanied by No. 10 Vanderbilt and Alabama.
